He was born on January 1, 1939, and was the only son of Sri Raghuraj Narayan Singh. In the annals of Library’s evolution, he emerges as the guiding light. Taking charge of the museum after the demise of his father in 1959, he found himself at the helm of a nascent institution, just beginning to spread its wings.
With boundless passion and a profound understanding of the power of knowledge and heritage, he embraced this responsibility with open arms. He was not just a secretary; he was the very heartbeat of this museum cum library. His selfless dedication and unparalleled devotion breathed life into the institution, propelling it towards greatness. Under his stewardship, the museum cum library found not just a new direction but an entirely new identity.

One such notable moment was the visit of Nitish Kumar in 2012, a testament to Dhrupad Narayan Singh’s tenacity and ability to draw attention to the cultural wealth our library had to offer.
However, every journey has its trials, and he faced them with unwavering resilience. In the face of adversity, he stood tall, facing challenges head-on. One of the most trying times was the unfortunate incident of theft of 4 precious manuscripts in the museum in 1973. Despite the setbacks and the heartache that followed, he remained undeterred. Because of his undying dedication & efforts, the case was given to CBI to solve, making his contribution even more remarkable.
